Etapalli: Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited
(LMEL) has set a new benchmark in the corporate sector by distributing Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) shares to its 1,692 employees in Gadchiroli district. This significant initiative took place at an ESOP distribution ceremony held on Monday at the Hedri Zone. With this distribution, the benefits of stock ownership have now reached a total of 10,631 employees.
Under the leadership of Managing Director B. Prabhakaran, Lloyds Metals has played a crucial role in transforming Gadchiroli district, once known for Naxalism, into a developed industrial hub. The ESOPs not only provide financial security to the employees but also honor their contributions to the company’s progress.
The program began with the traditional lighting of the lamp and paying homage to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Bhagwan Birsa Munda. Addressing the attendees, Prabhakaran congratulated the employees and emphasized that they are now not just workers, but partners in the company through ESOPs. He expressed gratitude for the employees’ dedication and shared his vision of seeing the hardworking and enthusiastic youth emerge as the most skilled professionals globally. He reminded everyone that the vision of bringing this region into the mainstream belonged to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Lloyds Metals is actively working towards realizing that dream. He urged the employees to put in their best efforts for the development of the region, calling it a service to the nation.
Prabhakaran reiterated his ambition to transform Gadchiroli into a “new Jamshedpur,” while underlining Lloyd’s long-term commitment. He referenced how Jamshetji Tata laid the foundation of the steel industry and took the Tata Group to a global level.

He expressed confidence that both the company and the region would grow together, and that one day, an LMEL employee would surely rise to become a director of the company. He specifically thanked the doctors, engineers, and security personnel who chose to work in this remote area, ensuring the company’s continued successful operation. He also lauded the crucial role of the security personnel in creating a safe and inclusive work environment where both men and women contribute with equal dedication.
